When should I mulch my planting beds?
The best time to mulch is in February or March. Remember - only apply a thin layer of mulch at the base of any plant as too much mulch could suffocate the plant.

What should I use on my concrete sidewalks and steps to treat them for ice?
We recommend magnesium for concrete. Never use rock salt on concrete!!
Back to Questions
How long do I need to wait before I clean and seal my new pavers?
We suggest waiting 3-6 months. This allows any efflorescence (a powdery substance that forms on the surface of rocks and brickwork) to weather away naturally.
Back to Questions
What are the advantages of sealing my pavers?
Sealers offer three advantages: they help resist stains, enhance the color, and bind the sand in the joints to make it difficult for weeds to germinate.
Back to Questions
How often do I have to reapply sealer?
Sealers are topical products and must be reapplied every 3-5 years.

How do I remove grease and oil stains from my pavers?
To safely remove grease or oil stains from concrete pavers use a product specifically designed to do just that. An excellent product for this is Techni-Seal’s dirt and grease cleaner. It dissolves, dislodges, and encapsulates grease and oil so that it can be rinsed away.
Back to Questions
Can I remove moss or mold from my pavers?
Try Clorox liquid bleach diluted in water (10 parts water to 1 part Clorox). Be careful not to get it on other plant material. Keep in mind that there is nothing that will keep it from growing back.
Back to Questions
Can pavers be used for my driveway?
Absolutely! A herringbone pattern is most suitable.
Back to Questions
Will weeds grow between my pavers?
Weeds and grass may grow between pavers as a result of seeds or spores blowing into, and lodging in, the joint sand. A spot vegetation killer (such as round up) can be used and will not damage the pavers.
